O Christmas Tree
09
Merry Christmas!
In the yearly quest for our Christmas tree, we decided to check out a local tree farm with our grandson Jackson. Just a 20 minute drive north of the Twin Cities is the Covered Bridge Farm with its rows upon rows of Balsam, Spruce and Fraser Firs.
Jack and Grandpa head out to look for the perfect tree with bow saw in hand…..
…and find it. Ready…. set…. saw! Jack makes sure ‘Dwampa’ does it just right.
Branches are trimmed so its time to load up, hang up the saw and get some hot cider and cookies. Covered Bridge Farm was a delight and I hear they grow blueberries you can pick in late July. Yummm. I think know we’ll be going back.
Thanks Covered Bridge Farm!
Dear Friends,
May God bless you this Christmas as you celebrate the birth of Christ the King.

Weekends in Fall
21
Weekends are for exploring, which we did a lot this summer. On our motorcycle travels, we’d stop in small towns and poke our way around the antique shops looking for Copper or garden things. See the copper creamer and sugar set below? Only $7.50 at a shop called the Emporium in Hastings, MN. I love them! They are Danish and the design is beautiful and subtle. When I took intro to metalsmithing back in the late 70′s, we learned how to form with hammers. I love that you can see all the hammer marks inside and out. Simple handmade beauty.
Since it is fall, and fall colors go so beautifully with old copper, I gathered a few items and took some pictures to remind me of the fun we had exploring. May your weekends be full of exploring whether it’s at home or afar, and have fun making some memories.
God Bless!
Laurie
